POR ESO ESTAMOS COMO ESTAMOS. A friend sent me this bulletin from UNAM-Los Angeles two days ago. The gist of the memo announces the kick-off of the UNAM Center at CSUN. The late provost had assured us that it would not be a university endeavor but confined to the College of Behavioral Science. Evidently the word of the university means little. Aside from our distinguished President Harrison, the director of the LA Center Paula de Gotari, assumed to be from the prominent PRI family announced the event. Dr. José Narro Robles the President of UNAM will be present. Narro Robles is a close confidant of Enrique Peña Nieto and has been criticized by Mexican students. Thus far there has been very little reaction to this announcement at CSUN, although the promise was made to us to be sensitive to what is happening in Mexico.It is ironic that we greeted the Normalistas with open arms and there is a lack of moral outrage not so much to the administration ignoring history but the welcoming of Narro Robles and PRI with open arms. Maybe I am getting old but history should matter.

Nuestra sede alterna dentro de la Universidad Estatal de California Northridge (CSUN) se inaugurará el 28 de septiembre. Tendremos el placer de recibir al rector de la UNAM, el Dr. José Narro Robles, y por supuesto, también contaremos con la presencia de Dianne Harris, presidente de CSUN, así como de otros representantes de ambas universidades, a quienes agradecemos enormemente el apoyo que nos han dado para concretar este proyecto. Estamos muy orgullosos de poder dar inicio a esta nueva etapa en la historia de nuestra sede y los invitamos a acompañarnos en esta importantísima celebración. La inauguración tendrá lugar en el Manzanita Hall a las once de la mañana. ¡Los esperamos!

Exhibición de la Universidad Nacional en CSUN
En el marco de la inauguración de nuestra sede en la Universidad Estatal de California Northridge, tendremos el gusto de compartir con la comunidad angelina la historia de nuestra Máxima Casa de Estudios. A través de la exhibición UNAM Hoy daremos a conocer los sucesos más relevantes en la historia de la Universidad desde sus inicios hasta el presente. Los invitamos a visitar esta muestra a partir del lunes 28 de septiembre en el Manzanita Hall de CSUN.
